How secure is your information on your smartphone? If you own an Android device, then you might be surprised to find out that your information is at significant risk. It turns out that 87% of Android devices are vulnerable to known flaws. On a scale of 10, Nexus phones received the highest marks with a 5.2 in security while Samsung, Asus, HTC, and Sony all scored 2s. The problem is that the manufacturers of these phones are not releasing updated security patches with enough regularity to keep up with the growing demands of cybersecurity. The hope is that by quantifying this number of vulnerable devices, manufacturers will be forced to take action and shore up security on their devices for users.
