Google is in the process of revolutionizing the way people use apps. The company added a new search feature last month that includes in-app content in search results. This new feature also gave people the opportunity to stream the content of the app to their device even if they didn’t have the app installed. This was already a revolutionary feature, but now they’re taking it even further by extending this feature to their AdMob network. That’s right. Mobile ads will now let users stream an app.
This is incredible news for app developers who want to give users the opportunity to try out their product before installing it. Also, the fact that this feature will be available to the entire Google AdMob network means that it will have a huge reach. The AdMob network currently reaches 650,000 apps. The potential for exposure is massive.
So how will it work? The new ads will function like a free trial. A developer will be able to provide up to 60 seconds of an app for users to try out. They simply have to click on the ad and experience the app immediately. It works by having the ad feature a virtual machine that’s being run in Google’s cloud services. The user can effectively stream the app straight from the ad itself. This will be especially great for mobile games where gameplay can be tested right away.
Google will be pricing the ads in the same way as its other ads. That means the option for per click pricing as well as per conversion pricing. This second option will allow you to potentially let users stream your game for free without having to pay as long as they don’t click through and install it. This ad technology is set to change the game and could be a huge boost to your app!
