Twitter has has chosen to introduce a new “adaptive UI” (user interface) to its iOS apps as a way to unify its apps across devices. Previously Twitter had a specific app for each different Apple device, such as iPhone and iPad. This required lots of work to make sure both versions were up to date and functioning properly independently of one another. The new adaptive UI does exactly what its name suggests: adapts to any screen and device. The adaptive approach will help give Twitter more control over its app and will allow it to implement new iOS features more quickly. It’s a smart move for the social media company and it will certainly benefit consumers by having a uniform app across all their devices.
