Waze, the popular voice-guided GPS app, has been blazing a new trail with sponsored celebrity voices. The GPS service has been partnering with businesses to promote products and media events through limited-edition voices. September features the introduction of Late Show host Stephen Colbert’s voice, New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski, and acclaimed actor Neil Patrick Harris. Colbert’s voice is just as snarky as ever and will function as a constant reminder for fans that his new Late Show is premiering on September 8th. His voice will only be available until September 22nd. Waze partnered with Arnold Schwarzenegger earlier this year to promote his film Terminator: Genisys. The promotions are a clever way to blend advertising and sponsorship without directly selling a product.
