‘Star Wars’ is a force to be reckoned with at the box office, but the money and the appeal doesn’t end at the theater. App downloads associated with ‘Star Wars’ skyrocketed after the film’s release on Friday, December 18th. Compared to the other Fridays leading up to the film’s release, ‘Star Wars’ app downloads on the release day soared 51 percent. The Saturday after the film’s release saw a 193 percent jump in downloads compared to the previous two Saturdays. Revenue was also up 74 percent. Unsurprisingly associating an app with the ‘Star Wars’ name was like printing money.
