That’s an existential question that people might have to start asking themselves if the rumors that Twitter is increasing the character limit to 10,000 is accurate. Twitter has tweaked and altered several features of its social media network and added new content like Twitter Moments, but increasing the length of a tweet from 140 to 10,000 characters would be the most radical change in the company’s history. The change is set to take effect at the end of the first quarter this year so there’s still time for the company to alter this decision in some way. However, it’s looking increasingly likely that Twitter will soon part ways with the limitation that set it apart from the competition.
