Marketing an app has been getting more and more expensive as time goes by. 2015 was no different. The average advertising cost per download soared over the course of the year for both Android and iOS. Costs were a bit lower for iOS with an average cost of $1.54 per user download in November. This was a 40 percent increase over the same time last year. Things were worse for Android. The average cost per download skyrocketed 101 percent since November last year, landing at $2.27. Although discoverability has improved, there doesn’t appear to be any sign of these costs being reduced at any point in the future.
