Ever since the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset was first announced people have been clamoring to get their hands on one. It promises to be the first VR device that will truly revolutionize the medium and tech enthusiasts and consumers alike have been hungry for any news regarding it. The company has finally announced the price and release date for the Oculus Rift. The headset itself will cost $599, which is a higher price tag than many were hoping. The other caveat is that the Rift requires a high-end gaming PC to function, which isn’t exactly a staple in most households. Oculus has therefore chosen to create a PC and Rift bundle available for $1,499. The company will begin shipping units in April of this year, but if you want to get your hands (or head) on one then you’ll need to wait longer due to the fact that pre-orders sold out in 15 minutes.
