Facebook is expanding – again. The social networking giant split its popular messaging service into its own app called “Messenger” and now the company is set to release a new standalone app called “Notify”. The app will function as an alternative news feed where the emphasis is on real world news itself. Curated content from your favorite publications will be available on the app in an easy-to-navigate interface. Earlier this year Facebook added “Instant Articles” to some news feed content that allowed an article to load ten times faster than following the standard method of being redirected to a website. “Notify” is an extension of that idea that will allow users to find and load content quickly. The app is slated to hit app stores this week.
