Getting your app or your product noticed on social media networks involves some online marketing savvy. The problem is that the market is always changing and there are always new ways to advertise. New data from Pinterest suggests that mobile ad campaigns that direct users to the mobile web are more prevalent and more successful than ads that direct users to app stores. In fact, 73 percent of all advertising activity on Pinterest directed users to mobile web pages as opposed to app installation pages. However, app install campaigns have grown month-over-month since their introduction on Pinterest in February of 2015. Unfortunately, 27 percent of advertising activity is still a small number and means that it will be challenging for app developers to direct users directly to their install pages in this sector.
