The current streaming device war has been in full effect for several years with each major player introducing their own product to bring content to TV screens. Apple has Apple TV, Amazon has the Fire Stick, and Google has its Chromecast. All of these devices have roughly the same capabilities, but not all of them have access to the same type of content. Google’s Chromecast got a big boost over the competition when it partnered with Spotify to bring streaming music to its newly-released Chromecast 2. However, in a surprising-but-welcomed move, Google has updated its original Chromecast to include Spotify support, too. This has the original Chromecast owners rejoicing as it adds much more value to their device.
