However, Blackberry’s newest phone, the Priv, has proven to be a success and has given Blackberry a new lease on life. What is dead, though, is the Blackberry operating system. The Priv runs on Android and has shown Blackberry that it is a far superior platform for the future of their product line. Blackberry has canceled plans to release any new devices in 2016 that use the Blackberry OS. All future devices will feature Android.
