Adoption rates for Apple’s new iOS9 software update hit 11 percent within the first 24 hours of its availability, but that number is 3 percent lower than the adoption rate following the release of iOS8. It’s likely that the downtick in downloads was a consequence of iOS8’s launch being plagued with bugs and crashes. It’s expected that many users will wait until some of the bumps have been smoothed out before downloading the new iOS9. While these numbers are lower than normal, the adoption rate is still higher than it is for competing brands like Android and Windows who suffer from the lack of a unified manufacturer for their devices.
