Apple has been incredible at revolutionizing so many aspects of the digital world but they were never quite able to make magic out of their iAd mobile advertising network. The company is now stepping back as the overseers of the ad network, but not completely dismantling the service. The high cost of the ad units and Apple’s strict oversight of the service stalled the platform before it was ever able to become dominant. iAD will become a more autonomous system moving forward.
